William Mock ll Obituary

William “Bill” C. Mock II, age 72, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2019, while residing in Plant City, Florida. His passing was the result of a courageous fight against declining health. Bill was born on April 16, 1947 in Rumford, ME, the son of the late William “Bill” C. Mock I and Adelaide (Dower) Mock. Bill graduated in 1966 from Mexico High School, Maine.

Bill joined the United States Air Force on November 14, 1966 and served until November 13, 1970. His service was during the Vietnam War, and he was a proud Vietnam Veteran. During his service he was a Motion Picture Lab Tech/Developer/Photographer and he documented the Vietnam War. He was a life-long member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his ex-wife, Sylvia L. Mock, Lebanon, NH and their four daughters: Heidi M. Bellimer, husband Jeffrey and granddaughter Micole, Lebanon, NH; Brianna “Alicia” R. Chapin, husband Jayme and grandsons Patrick, Jacob, Piermont, NH; Stacy A. Simoneau, Fiancé James “Jed” Brown and grandson Joseph: partner Marissa Washer, great grandson Alaric, and grandson Joshua (USMC), Canaan, NH; Robyn L. Hinkson, Fiancé Jerry Levasseau and grandsons Forrest, Lochlainn, Claremont, NH; His sister, Pamela “Pam” A. Hudson, husband Paul, Springfield, VT; Nephews Eric W. Hudson, wife Dawn and great nephew Jason, great-great niece Aubree, great niece Erin; Matthew F. Hudson and great nephews Benjamin and Nicholas: and many cousins and amazing family friends.

One of our fondest memories of our Dad was that his parents always referred to him as “Wild Bill from Penley Hill,” from his time when he was a kid living in Mexico, ME. He was famous for shooting out the street lights with his BB gun. My grandmother “Tiny” would chase him around in the house and he would run around several times before making his escape. We so loved him telling us about his childhood stories. He loved fishing and hunting, and the fish stories that came with it! He was not always forthcoming about his time in the war - which deeply affected him. His deepest love was for his family and spending time with family/friends at camp TIPABIBI in Oquossoc/Rangeley, Maine.

A private family internment service will be held at the Veterans Cemetery in Randolph Ctr., VT.
