Predeceased by her beloved parents, Mack Simmons and Arrel Idella Bradley, her devoted husband, Robert Balfour, and her sisters, Mary Winterburn, Wilma Singletary, and Aline Hiam, Willene's legacy is carried forward by her loving family. She is survived by her children, Emmett Lane and his wife Stephanie, and Theresa Barbee and her husband Robert. Her sisters, Tina Burkhalter and Shirley Temples, also continue to cherish her memory, along with her four adored grandchildren, Charlene (Grant) Olgesby, Miranda (John) Ketchum, Allison ( Will) Lane, and Hailey Barbee, and three great-grandchildren, Aiden, Gracelynn, and Jack who were the light of her life.

Willene's journey was marked by her enduring connection to the land and her community. Her work in farming was not just a profession but a way of life that she embraced wholeheartedly. Her dedication to nurturing growth, both in the fields and in the hearts of those around her, was evident to all who knew her.

A long-standing member of the Ardella Baptist Church in Lakeland, Willene's faith was a cornerstone of her existence. She found joy in the fellowship of her church community and was always ready to lend a hand or share a kind word. Her interests extended beyond her spiritual life; she was an exceptional cook and took great pleasure in tending to her yard, creating a welcoming space for family and friends alike.
