Thomas Eugene Krouse, known affectionately as Tom to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2024, in Plant City, Florida, at the age of 69. Born on August 22, 1955, in Columbus, Ohio, Tom was a man whose presence was marked by a profound kindness and an unwavering love for his family.
Predeceased by his father, Paul Leonard Krouse, Tom's legacy is carried on by his devoted mother, Delores Wamack, and his loving wife of 49 years, Mary Beth Krouse. Together, they raised a family that includes their children, Amanda Sheets, Ryan (Desirae) Krouse, and Nathan Krouse. Tom's life was further enriched by the joy of his siblings, Dr. Christina Roberts and Rick Roberts. His role as a grandfather was one of his greatest joys, and he leaves behind cherished memories with his six grandchildren, Madison, Mitchell, and Matthew Sheets, Charlie, Evelyn, and Dylan Krouse, as well as his two great-grandchildren, Averee Small and Adeline Sheets.
Tom's passion for baseball was a thread that ran through his entire life. He was an ardent supporter of the Cincinnati Reds and the Tampa Bay Rays, and he could often be found sharing his love for the game with his children and grandchildren, whether it was playing catch in the yard or cheering from the stands.
Those who knew Tom would describe him as the epitome of loving and kind. His gentle demeanor and generous spirit were a beacon of light to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Tom's ability to listen with empathy and offer support was a gift to his friends and family, and his absence will be deeply felt by the many lives he touched.
As we say goodbye to Tom, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and love. His unwavering commitment to his family, his passion for baseball, and his kind-hearted nature will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him. Tom's story is not just one of a life well-lived but also of a legacy of love that will continue to inspire those he has left behind.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Please join us in honoring the memory of Thomas Eugene Krouse, a man who was not only cherished in life but will forever be cherished in the hearts of those he loved.
For those of us who had the privilege of knowing him, we were blessed to witness the embodiment of dedication, hard work, and unwavering love. He was more than just the foundation of our family; he was the cornerstone upon which so much of who we are today was built.
Dad was the most dedicated and hardworking person I've ever known. Whether it was in his career, his commitments to others, or his passions, he approached everything with a sense of purpose. But there was one passion that stood above the rest, and that was baseball. The game wasn't just something he loved; it was something he shared with me, deeply and wholeheartedly. From the countless hours of batting practice to coaching me on the finer points of the game, Dad didn't just teach me how to play—he taught me about life. He showed me how to face challenges with perseverance, how to handle victories with humility, and how to embrace teamwork, on and off the field. But more than the lessons of the game,
Dad taught me how to be a man. His quiet strength, his integrity, and the way he always put family first—these are the values that he instilled in me. He was a constant presence, always there when I needed guidance or support, never too busy to lend an ear or give advice, whether about baseball or life. He didn't just talk about what it meant to be a good man; he lived it every day. And I know that I am the person I am today because of the example he set for me.
To our family, Dad was our foundation. His love and devotion to us were the threads that held us together. He made us stronger, better, and more united. He gave us the kind of love that was steady, unconditional, and always present. We are better because of him—better people, better sons and daughters, better partners and parents.
Dad, you leave behind a legacy that can never be measured by words alone. You shaped us with your love, your lessons, and your life. And while we will miss you every day, we will carry you with us in everything we do. Your spirit, your wisdom, and your love will continue to guide us, just as it always has.
Dad, We love you, and we are forever grateful for the amazing man that you were. Thank you so much for everything . We will see each other one day again. We will all miss you more than you know. Love you, Dad
