Sylvia E. Harrell, born on January 10, 1947, in Plant City, Florida, passed away on April 20, 2026, in the same beloved hometown, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion that will be treasured by all who knew her.
She was the daughter of the late Scott English and Dorothy Jackson. Sylvia was also preceded in death by her husband, Laddy Harrell, and by her siblings, James Britt, Bernice Buzbee, Rudolph Britt, Arnold Britt, Betty Weeks, Roberta Bowden, and Barbara Longest. Though she experienced the sorrow of many losses in her lifetime, she carried herself with grace and strength, and she remained a source of comfort and encouragement to those around her.
Sylvia is survived by her children, Randall Galloway and his wife Shelia, Edward Galloway and his wife Kristin, and Alicia Cole and her husband Paul. She also leaves behind six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, each of whom brought great joy to her life. Her family was the center of her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose presence will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
Sylvia was a faithful member of Calvary Freewill Baptist Church, where she found strength, fellowship, and peace in her walk with the Lord. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she lived in a way that reflected her devotion to God and her love for others. She was known for her gentle spirit, her warm heart, and the kindness she extended so freely to family, friends, and neighbors alike.
Those who knew Sylvia will remember her as a loving and kind woman who carried herself with humility and compassion. She had a way of making others feel welcome and cared for, and her life was a beautiful example of steadfast love and quiet faith. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and all who were blessed to share in her life.
Sylvia E. Harrell's life was one of devotion to her family, her church, and her Lord. While her passing leaves a deep emptiness, her loved ones take comfort in the many cherished memories she created and in the lasting impact of her life. She will be remembered with love, honored with respect, and missed beyond measure.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday, April 23, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Calvary Freewill, 3539 East Trapnell Road Plant City, FL 33566.
A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM.
The family is requesting everyone wear her favorite color pink to her service.
