Stephon L White

Stephon L. White, a cherished son, brother, and friend, left this world on September 6, 2024, at the age of 52. Born on July 18, 1972, in Plant City, FL, he was a lifelong resident who made a lasting impact on his community through his culinary talents and vibrant spirit.

Stephon graduated from Plant City High School, where he discovered his passion for cooking. This passion led him to a fulfilling career as a chef, where he delighted many with his exceptional skills, especially in the art of BBQ. His love for food was only matched by his love for fishing, music, and poetry. Music and poetry were Stephon's soul's expressions. He loved rap music for its raw and rhythmic storytelling, and he often penned verses that reflected his own experiences and dreams. His poetry was a window into his heart, filled with insights and emotions that resonated with those fortunate enough to hear his words.

He is survived by his loving parents, Artis Collins and Mary White, and his devoted older sister, Princess Wills, his sister, Latrice Anderson and brother, Shamar Walter, he is also survived by his nephews, Mario (Thomas) Brown-Westbrook, Quinton Brown-Westbrook, Jordan Brown Westbrook, all from Canton, Georgia, Ervin Murray, Tybrell Dunlap, CJ Dunlap, Christopher Ford, all from Plant City, Florida, Dorian (Katherine) Wright, and Princeton Wright, both from Lakeland, Florida and his nieces, Briana Brown Westbrook and Amari Brown Westbrook, both from Canton, Georgia, and Nora Wright from Lakeland, Florida. He is also survived by a host of family and friends. Stephon was predeceased by his older sister, Sonja Candis, whose memory he held dear to his heart.

Stephon's life was one of connection and joy. His infectious laughter and generous spirit were a comfort to all who knew him. He had the rare ability to turn a simple meal into a gathering of hearts, and his absence will be deeply felt at family tables and community events alike.

As we bid farewell to Stephon L. White, we celebrate the time we were privileged to share with him. His legacy of love, creativity, and community will continue to inspire us all. Stephon's life was a testament to the beauty of simplicity and the power of passion. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered.

Friends and family will be received Friday, September 13th, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Haught Funeral Home, 708 W. Dr. MLK Jr. Blvd, Plant City, FL 33563.
A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM.
