Sherry Lorain Abercrombie, 58, passed away on March 14, 2025 in Dover, FL.
Sherry was born on June 17, 1966 in Paintsville, Kentucky to the late Ray Holbrook and Brigitte Matteson, whom she loved dearly. Sherry lived her earlier years in Hope Mills/Fayetteville North Carolina, and then moved to Plant City, Florida when she was 33.
A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Sherry's heart belonged to her husband, Stanley Abercrombie, whom she adored and loved fiercely.
She was a loving mother to Brigitte Cartrette and Joshua Cartrette (wife, Jashemen) and embraced her stepchildren, Christina Mueller (husband, Brandon), Robert Abercrombie (wife, Bianca), Michael Abercrombie, and Tyler Abercrombie, as her own.
Sherry's greatest joy was her family, and she cherished her grandchildren Jacob Hartley, Camranh Cartrette, Allison Cartrette, and Isaac Cartrette with all her heart. She also cared deeply for her step-grandchildren, James Abercrombie, Jason Abercrombie, Austin Mueller, and Brayden Mueller.
She is also survived by her beloved sisters, Winifred Jenkins (husband, Ray), Suzanna Gwin (husband, Garrett), and Tabatha Duran (husband, Al).
Sherry earned two associate degrees and worked for the Hillsborough County Tax Collector's Office, taking great pride in serving her community.
She found joy in life's simple pleasures—staying connected on social media, treasure hunting at yard sales, decorating her home, watching her TV shows, listening to songs with Stanley, and her passion for skincare.
She had a sass and sense of humor like no other, bringing laughter and light to every conversation. Sherry radiated warmth, kindness, and love, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her. She was truly one of a kind.
Nana, we love you more than God loves little green apples, and those are His favorite ones. Rest in peace, and we will keep looking for the signs you send our way.
