Her journey took her to Thonotosassa, Florida, where she continued to touch the lives of those around her. Ruth's dedication to caring for others was evident in her long-standing career as a Certified Nursing Assistant in healthcare, a role in which she provided comfort and care to countless individuals with kindness and grace.
A woman of remarkable resilience, Ruth was predeceased by her beloved parents, Huey McElwaney and Helen Francis Harper, her cherished husband, Billie Stephens, and her dear siblings, Belinda Carter and Ronnie McElwaney. Her legacy of love and warmth lives on through her children, Candy Stephens, Billie Stephens Jr., and Krystal Stephens, who will forever hold her memory in their hearts. Ruth's spirit will also be carried forward by her siblings, Juanita Gillman and Vicky Taylor, her adored ten grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

She was known for her strong will, her ability to cherish life through all its ups and downs, and her fighting spirit that never wavered.
