Ruth Ann Stephens, lovingly known to all as Ruth, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2024, in Ruskin, Florida, at the age of 73. Born on May 14, 1951, in Fayetteville, Georgia, Ruth's life was a testament to the strength and love she carried within her heart.

Ruth's early years in Fayetteville laid the foundation for a life characterized by compassion and service to others. Her journey took her to Thonotosassa, Florida, where she continued to touch the lives of those around her. Ruth's dedication to caring for others was evident in her long-standing career as a Certified Nursing Assistant in healthcare, a role in which she provided comfort and care to countless individuals with kindness and grace.

A woman of remarkable resilience, Ruth was predeceased by her beloved parents, Huey McElwaney and Helen Francis Harper, her cherished husband, Billie Stephens, and her dear siblings, Belinda Carter and Ronnie McElwaney. Her legacy of love and warmth lives on through her children, Candy Stephens, Billie Stephens Jr., and Krystal Stephens, who will forever hold her memory in their hearts. Ruth's spirit will also be carried forward by her siblings, Juanita Gillman and Vicky Taylor, her adored ten grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

Ruth's interests and personality were as vibrant as her smile. She was known for her strong will, her ability to cherish life through all its ups and downs, and her fighting spirit that never wavered. Ruth was the epitome of loving, friendly, and selfless—qualities that drew people to her and made her a cherished friend, neighbor, and confidant.
