Rosemary K. Johns

Rosemary K. Johns, age 84, of Plant City, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ peacefully on Sunday April 18th, 2021 with her daughter by her side. She was born in her Portsmouth, VA home on December 17th, 1936 then years later moved to Florida where she currently resided. She was preceeded in death by her loving parents Roland and Hazel King, her 7 siblings, Robert, Roland, Ralph, Walter, Sydney, Hazel, Frances, her grandson, Josh Johns and son, Billy Johns. She is survived by her daughter Patsy Hawkins(husband Doug), son Dale Johns(wife, Sarah), 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchilren, and 2 great great-grandchildren. Rosemary, the youngest, was the apple of her Daddy's eye, while being loved and spoiled by her mother and 7 siblings.

Rosemary cherished her family greatly, the love for her children could be described as unmeasurable. Her children were her life and she was so very proud of each of them. She made raising 3 children look easy. However, it has been said it takes a village to raise a child and her village was her church family.

Rosemary's caring, loving and thoughtful nature extended beyond her immediate family and those closest to her. Rosemary chose to spend 20+ years taking care of those who were unable to care for themselves. While working as an LPN at Lowes Nursing Home in Thonotosassa, Rosemary often came in early and stayed late to spend extra time with her patients that did not receive regular visitors.

Rosemary was a very involved member and faithful servant at Shiloh Baptist Church. She deeply loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and knew that He was her Rock. She rarely missed an opportunity to fellowship with her Sunday school class and worship with her church family. Her life was truly a living example of one of her favorite scriptures, Ephesians 4:32 " be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ".

Please join us in celebrating her life Friday, April 23rd from 10:00AM to 11:00AM at Haught Funeral Home Chapel, 708 W. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Plant City, FL 33563. Funeral services will follow at 11:00AM. In lieu of flowers, Rosemary requested that any contributions be made to Shiloh Baptist Church's building fund.
