Rose Montgomery Obituary

Rose Marie Montgomery, a beacon of love and courage, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2024, in Tampa, FL, at the age of 70. Born on November 5, 1953, in Nyack, NY, Rose was a woman whose passion for life touched everyone she met. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and kindness that will be cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Rose spent her early years in Nyack, where she grew up surrounded by the love of her parents, James Ellis Thomas and Mary Louise White, both of whom predeceased her. She shared her childhood with her siblings, Ann Wright, James Thomas, Jerry Thomas, Ronnie Thomas, and Jackie Dale Thomas. While Ann, James, and Jerry have passed on, Ronnie and Jackie continue to carry the memories of their sister with pride and affection.

In her adult life, Rose found joy and companionship in her beloved husband, Dennis Montgomery. Together, they built a life filled with laughter and love. Rose was a devoted mother to her children, Tina Siggers, Michelle Billingsley, Bobby Touchton, Tony Touchton, and Dusty Touchton. Her role as a grandmother to fifteen grandchildren and a great-grandmother to thirteen great-grandchildren was one she cherished deeply. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she nurtured each relationship with tenderness and dedication.

Professionally, Rose was known for her warm smile and friendly conversation as a waitress at a local restaurant. Her colleagues and customers alike were drawn to her genuine care and attentive nature. Rose's involvement in her community extended beyond her work, as she was an active participant in local events and associations, always eager to lend a helping hand.

Rose's interests were a reflection of her vibrant spirit. She loved shopping at flea markets and yard sales, always on the hunt for unique finds. Her collection of purses was more than a hobby; it was a testament to her appreciation for the stories and history behind each piece.

Those who knew Rose would describe her as loving, courageous, and passionate. She faced life's challenges with a brave heart and never lost her ability to see the beauty in the world. Her enthusiasm for life was infectious, and she inspired others to approach each day with the same zest and optimism.

In the words of Helen Keller, "What we have once enjoyed we can never lose; all that we love deeply becomes a part of us." Rose Marie Montgomery will forever be a part of the many lives she touched.

Rose Marie Montgomery's journey on earth may have come to an end, but her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she loved. Her memory will be a guiding light, reminding us to embrace life with courage and passion, just as she did. She will be deeply missed, but the love she shared will remain a comforting presence for all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
