Ronald Joseph Hurlock

Ronald J. Hurlock, 85, of Plant City, Florida, passed away on April 22, 2026. A quiet man of many strengths, he lived a life that spoke for itself.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Ron made history as the first Senate appointment from Alaska to the United States Naval Academy, graduating with the Class of 1966. He served his country as a naval officer with distinction in Vietnam, attaining the rank of Lieutenant, and later joined the faculty of the United States Merchant Marine Academy.

In time he entered the family business, Hurlock Cine World, before founding his own company, Hurlock Application Consultants.

Ron lived for many years in Stamford, Connecticut, before retiring to Florida, first in Orlando and then Plant City, where he was happiest with a good book, his land, and the company of his two cows, Lucilla and Vera.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Paula M. Hurlock; his three children, Mary Hurlock-Risdon, Julia M. Hana, and Joseph B. Hurlock; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was deeply loved and will be immensely missed.

A mass service will be held on Tuesday May 19, 2026 at 10:00 AM at St. Clement Catholic Church.
