Roman Lopez Obituary

Roman Lopez, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2025, in Plant City, Florida. Born on March 3, 1954, in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, Roman's life was a vibrant journey that touched the hearts of all who knew him.

Predeceased by his parents, Sebastian Espinoza and Guadalupe Pena, and his beloved son, Roberto (Bob) Lopez, Roman's legacy continues through his devoted wife of 46 years, Laura Lopez, and his loving children, Gilbert Lopez, Anna (Jesse) Garza, and Dulce Pineda-Sanchez (Arturo). His memory will also be cherished by his siblings, Guadalupe, Martin, Luis, Florencia, Matilda, and Ciro Espinoza, as well as his adored grandchildren, Gilbert Jr., Lynette, Trinity, Elly, Joey, Laila, Bella, and Joselin.

Roman's life was marked by his unwavering dedication to his family and his community. Known affectionately as the "unofficial mayor of Dover," he was a pillar of strength and support, always ready to lend a hand or share a word of encouragement. His work history and association involvement were a testament to his commitment to the well-being of those around him.

A man of many interests, Roman found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved listening to music, reveling in the beauty of the outdoors, and enjoying a cold beer with friends. His ability to socialize and connect with people from all walks of life was unparalleled. Roman's love for his family was the cornerstone of his existence, and his presence at family gatherings was always a source of warmth and laughter.

Roman's sense of humor was one of his most endearing qualities. He was known for his sarcasm and his refusal to sugarcoat anything, yet his words were always delivered with love and kindness. Those who knew Roman will remember him as a loving and kind man, whose generosity of spirit made the world a better place.

As we bid farewell to Roman, we celebrate a life lived with passion and purpose. His influence will continue to be felt by all who were fortunate enough to have known him. Roman's story is one of love, laughter, and the enduring bonds of family and friendship.

We take comfort in knowing that Roman's spirit will live on through the cherished memories he leaves behind. His laughter, his wisdom, and his unwavering love will forever be etched in our hearts. As we honor his memory, we are reminded of the impact one life can have on so many.

Roman Lopez's journey through life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of community. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy will continue to inspire us all. Rest in peace, Roman, knowing that your life was a gift to us that will never be forgotten.
