Robinson Rummel Obituary

Robinson Edward Rummel, affectionately known as Bob to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2025, in Lakeland, Florida. Born on November 15, 1928, in Chicago, Illinois, Bob was a man of light and love throughout his 96 years of life.

Bob was the cherished son of the late Charles Rummel and Minnie. He was predeceased by hi ssiblings, Shirley, Sharon, Lillian, Ruth, Don, and Charles. His legacy of love continues through his devoted wife of seventy-seven years of marriage, Florence Rummel, and their children, Bob (Linda) Rummel, David (Phoenix) Rummel, and Scott Rummel. Bob was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who will carry forward his spirit of kindness and joy.

After earning his bachelor's degree, Bob dedicated twenty-two years of service to his country as a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force. His commitment to his nation was matched only by his commitment to his community, as evidenced by his active involvement with the American Legion. Bob was a long-time resident of Plant City and Reading, Massachusetts, where he made countless contributions to the lives of those around him.

Bob's love for life was infectious, and he could often be found on the dance floor, where he excelled in both square and round dancing. His passion for movement and music brought joy to many and served as a testament to his vibrant spirit.

Those who knew Bob would describe him as loving and kind, words that only begin to capture the essence of a man who lived his life with an open heart and a generous soul. He was a beacon of warmth and compassion, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a moment of laughter.

As we bid farewell to Robinson Edward Rummel, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of love, service, and dance. His memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have known him. Bob's journey on earth may have come to a close, but the impact of his love and kindness will continue to resonate for generations to come.
