Robert Waltman Obituary

It is with deep affection and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Robert Martin Waltman, affectionately known as Bob, who left this world on December 28, 2023, at the age of 80. Born on July 24, 1943, in Lancaster, PA, Bob was a man of warmth and unwavering integrity who made his final years in Plant City, Florida, surrounded by the love of his family and friends.

Bob was predeceased by his treasured wife, Hazel Waltman, his father, Martin Waltman, and his mother, Dorothy Banzhof. His stepdaughter, Diane Heth, also preceded him in departure. He leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication to his surviving family members, which include his stepdaughter, Marilyn (Ken) Sorah and stepson, Arlin (Kelle) Cope; his sister, Dorothy Long; his sister, Carol Waltman; his brother, Mark Waltman; his five grandchildren; and his nine great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense joy and pride.

Throughout his life, Bob was a steadfast worker with a strong work ethic. He spent many years contributing to the success of ACME Wellpoint before taking on the role of a Front Service Clerk at Publix on Thonotosassa Rd. Bob's dedication to his work was only matched by his commitment to his community and his church. As a devoted member of Shiloh Baptist Church, he lived a life of service, embodying the words of Mahatma Gandhi, "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others."

Bob's zest for life was evident in his passions. He was an avid player of electronic darts, a hobby that brought him both relaxation and friendly competition. His love for his dog, Woody, was well-known, as they were inseparable companions through many of life's adventures. Bob's laughter and jovial spirit were a beacon of light to all who knew him.

In his everyday life, Bob was a man of simple pleasures, a pillar of his community, and a friend to all. His kindness, generosity, and the love he shared with those around him will be deeply missed but never forgotten. As we say farewell to Bob, we hold onto the countless memories he has given us, the lessons he has taught us, and the love he has spread so freely.

As we reflect on Bob's life, we are reminded that his spirit will continue to live on through the stories shared, the values he instilled, and the lives he touched. We take solace in knowing that Bob has been reunited with his beloved wife and family members who have passed before him.

Bob's journey through life was marked by the love he had for his family, the friendships he cherished, and the community he helped build. We honor his memory by celebrating the man he was and by striving to emulate his unwavering kindness and selflessness. Bob will forever be remembered as a beacon of love and the heart of his family.
