Robert Lee Read II, a cherished soul known for his loving and kind nature, passed away on March 14, 2025, in Plant City, Florida. Born on November 11, 1962, in Lewis County, Washington. Robert's life was a testament to the power of simple joys and the strength of community bonds.

Robert was predeceased by his parents, Robert Lee Read and Elzady Gugut Read, Robert is survived by his sister, Caroline. His gentle spirit and warm smile left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Robert dedicated many years of service as a janitor at the First Baptist Church of Plant City, a place that was much more than a workplace to him. It was there that he found a second family among the congregation, participated in the choir, and deepened his faith.

His colleagues and friends at the church remember Robert as a man who took pride in his work and went above and beyond to ensure the church was welcoming for all who entered. His commitment to his faith and his church community was unwavering, and his voice added a rich warmth to the choir that will be deeply missed.

Outside of his work and church life, Robert found joy in the pages of comic books and the melodies of his favorite music. He was seldom seen without a comic in hand or a tune humming from his lips. His cats, Tiger and Marci, were his beloved companions, and he cared for them with the utmost affection.
Robert's legacy is one of love, kindness, and the quiet impact one person can have on the lives of many. He will be remembered for his compassionate heart, his readiness to help, and his ability to find happiness in the simple things. Robert Lee Read II's memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him, and his spirit will live on in the community he loved so dearly.

Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Haught Funeral Home, 708 W. Dr. MLK Jr. Blvd Plant City, FL 33563.
A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM.
