It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert “Bob” Mueller, a beloved father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend whose larger-than-life personality left an unforgettable mark on everyone who knew him.
Bob was born in Dover, Ohio, and grew up in Leon, New York, where he developed the values that would define his life—hard work, loyalty, and a deep love for family. He never met a stranger and was known for his outgoing nature, quick conversations, and ability to make friends wherever he went. His smile, stories, and infectious personality could light up any room.
Above all else, Bob’s family was the center of his world. He took immense pride in those he loved and cherished every opportunity to spend time with them. Whether he was driving around town or on the road hauling for FedEx, you could count on receiving a phone call from Bob. He loved checking in, saying hello, and talking about nothing and everything all at once. Those calls were his way of staying connected and reminding the people he loved that they were always on his mind.
Bob was the kind of man who showed up. If you needed help, he was often the first one there, ready to lend a hand without hesitation. He worked hard in everything he did and lived a life defined by generosity and dependability.
He had a passion for hot rods, old Chevy Camaros, and just about anything with a motor. He loved going to drag races and tractor pulls and was always happiest around engines and the excitement that came with them. Some of his greatest joys were watching his son and grandson race motocross, cheering them on every chance he got. He was also an avid Ohio State fan who never missed an opportunity to talk about the game and share his Buckeye pride with anyone willing to listen.
Bob appreciated life’s simple pleasures. He looked forward to going to breakfast every day with his buddies, sharing stories, laughter, and friendship. He especially treasured time with his family, and some of his happiest moments were spent swimming with his grandchildren and making memories that they will carry with them forever.
Bob is survived by his loving sons, Nathan Mueller and his wife, Rechelle, and James Sheffield and his wife, Vikki; his cherished grandchildren, Ragen, Keeley, Mason, Averey, Kenzie, and Joshua; his precious great-granddaughter, Aurora; as well as his siblings and extended family members whom he loved dearly. He also leaves behind many friends who became family throughout his life.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Bob lived life fully, loved deeply, and never let a chance to connect with others pass him by. His laughter, his stories, his phone calls, and his unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed and fondly remembered always.
In true Bob fashion, keep the stories going, check in on the people you love, and never pass up the chance to say hello.
