Rita McNamee

Rita McNamee, an embodiment of laughter and love, passed away on April 22, 2024, in Plant City, FL, at the age of 78. Born on February 4, 1946, in Friedberg, Germany, to the late Heinrich Haas and Erika Kern, Rita's vibrant spirit and infectious humor touched everyone she met.

Rita's life was a testament to love and dedication. She shared 30 beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Robert McNamee. Together, they built a life filled with joy and cherished memories. Rita was a loving mother to her children, Frank Smith, Sandi Smith Clearo, and Carmen (Tim) Smith. Her legacy continues to bloom through her six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, who were the apples of her eye. Rita is predeceased by her late brother, and is survived by her siblings Waltraud Bartlet, Herbert Haas, Horst Haas, and Hein Haas.

Rita was the proud owner of the Strawberry Patch in Plant City, FL, since 1994, where her passion for business and her community flourished. She was known for her exceptional communication skills and her ability to make friends wherever she went. Rita's interests included shopping for the latest fashion in clothes and shoes, and she was often described as a social butterfly.

Those who knew Rita will remember her as loving, funny, and passionate. She had the remarkable ability to find humor in every situation, remaining extremely funny even in her final days. In the words of Maya Angelou, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Rita indeed left an indelible mark on all of those she encountered.

Rita McNamee's light will continue to shine in the hearts of those who loved her, and her laughter will echo in their memories forever.
