Ricky Sodders Obituary

Ricky Lee Sodders, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2024, in Brandon, Florida, at the age of 69. Born on September 26, 1955, in Bryan, Ohio, to the late Douglas Sodders and Ruby Ellen Roarke, Ricky grew up in a bustling household that was always filled with love and laughter.

Predeceased by his siblings Billy, Betty Jo, Wayne, and Gerald, Ricky's legacy of kindness and generosity lives on through his beloved wife of 25 years, Pam Sodders, and his adoring children, Kimberly (Kenny) Davis, Robynn O'Connell, Megan (Tim) Trice, Shannon (Matt) Bumpus, and Camerin (Manny) Quinones. He was a proud uncle to many nieces and nephews and a revered brother to Patsy Knight, Charles Sodders, Donald Ray Sodders, and Darrell Sodders. His nineteen grandchildren, who were the light of his life, will forever cherish the memories and lessons he imparted.

A man of faith and community, Ricky was a dedicated member of the Plant City Church of God, where he served and worshipped with a humble heart. His entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly as the owner of Rick's Pressure Washing & Carpet Cleaning, a business that not only served its customers with excellence but also provided a warm and supportive workplace for its employees. Ricky's commitment to his craft extended to his involvement with the Heavy Equipment Operators Local 925, where he was respected for his skill and dedication.

Ricky's interests were as vibrant and diverse as his personality. He was an avid fan of NASCAR, never missing a race, and his enthusiasm for the Florida Gators, Tampa Bay Rays, and Tampa Bay Lightning was infectious. He could often be found cheering on his favorite teams, surrounded by family and friends who shared in his passion. Above all, Ricky cherished his grandchildren, dedicating his time and patience to be a constant presence in their lives. His reliability was a cornerstone of the family, always there to lend a helping hand or a listening ear.

Those who knew Ricky will remember him as the epitome of selflessness and generosity. He approached life with a gentle spirit, always putting the needs of others before his own. His unwavering support and unconditional love were a comfort to all who were fortunate enough to cross his path.

Ricky Lee Sodders will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him to live with the same compassion and integrity that he embodied. As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, we take solace in the countless memories and the profound impact he made on our lives. Ricky's story is one of love, service, and the enduring strength of family—a story that will be told for generations to come.
