Pedro Ortiz, a cherished father, grandfather, and pillar of the Oaxaco, Mexico community, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2024, in Tampa, Florida, at the age of 66. Born on February 15, 1958, in the vibrant city of Oaxaco, Pedro's life was a testament to his unwavering faith, love for his family, and dedication to his community.

Pedro was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Eva Aguilar, and his father, Jesus Ortiz. He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, as seen through the eyes of his mother, Isabel Flores, and his children, Elizabeth Ortiz, Jesus Ortiz, Christina Alfaro, Pedro Ortiz Jr., Dina Ruiz, Elias Ortiz, Abisag Ortiz, Berenise Ruiz, Ruth Ortiz, Raquel Ortiz, Sadrach Ortiz, and Abigail Ortiz. His memory will also be cherished by his siblings, Maria del Carmen Ortiz Flores, Margarito de Jesus Ortiz Flores, Alicia Ortiz Flores, Mauro Aquilino Ortiz Flores, and Zipriana Aurelia Ortiz Flores. Pedro's life was further enriched by the joy of his 35 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, who will carry his spirit forward for generations to come.

A man of deep faith, Pedro was an active member of the Iglesia de Jesucristo in Plant City, where he found solace and strength in his Bible, a book he cherished above all. His commitment to his faith was evident in his everyday actions and the guidance he provided to all who knew him. As it is written, "For we walk by faith, not by sight," (2 Corinthians 5:7), a verse that Pedro lived by and instilled in his family.

Pedro's passion for life was matched only by his love for his family. He was a beacon of wisdom and kindness, always ready with a warm smile and an open heart. His presence was a comfort to those around him, and his guidance was sought by many. Pedro's legacy is not only in the family he raised but also in the community he helped to build and nurture.

In his leisure, Pedro could often be found surrounded by his family, sharing stories and laughter. His love for his heritage was evident in the way he celebrated his culture and traditions, ensuring they were passed down through the generations. Pedro's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with threads of love, faith, and community.

Friends and family will be received from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM to Iglesia de Jesucristo in Plant City.
A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM.

Burial will take place Wednesday August 7th at 9:00 AM at Mt. Enon Cemetery in Plant City, FL.
