Paul Earl Hamilton, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2024, in Plant City, Florida, at the age of 81. Born on February 22, 1943, in Alapaha, Georgia, Paul's life was a testament to the power of love, adventure, and dedication.
Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Judy Hamilton, with whom he was just shy of celebrating their 59th wedding anniversary. He was a loving father to his sons, Nelson and Gary Hamilton, and a doting grandfather to Madison Hamilton. His siblings, Clarence Hamilton, Jeanette Poindexter, and a host of nieces and nephews, will remember him fondly. Paul was predeceased by his brothers Reid Hamilton, Clyde Hamilton, Estell Hamilton, Winton Hamilton, and his sisters Ethelene Gaskins, Mary Johnson, and Wilma Harbin.
Paul honorably served in the Army for three years. He then dedicated most of his life to his work as a steelworker, where he was known for his strong work ethic and camaraderie. Paul's adventurous spirit was evident in his love for biking with Judy, tending to his garden, and traveling and camping across the United States.
Paul lived his life embracing the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson: "Life is a journey, not a destination." His passion for life and the love he shared with his family will continue to inspire those who knew him.
Paul Earl Hamilton's legacy is one of love, adventure, and the enduring bonds of family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a man who lived life to the fullest, with a heart full of love and a spirit that knew no bounds.
