Mike Lopez, a cherished husband, father, and respected community member, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2024, at the age of 88, in Plant City, Florida. Born on March 25, 1936, in Tampa, Florida, Mike's life was a testament to his loving and kind nature, which touched the hearts of all who knew him.
Predeceased by his parents, Evelio J. Lopez Sr. and Josephine Sardegena, Mike's legacy of love and dedication lives on through his beloved wife of 68 years, Glorine, and his devoted children, Tim (Pam) Lopez Sr., and Tammie (Robert) Miskiel, and his six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. His unwavering commitment to his family was the cornerstone of his life, and his presence will be deeply missed.
Mike's work ethic and sense of duty were evident throughout his career. He retired from Publix Frozen Food Warehouse, where his diligence and reliability were hallmarks of his service. His dedication to public safety was further exemplified by his role as an auxiliary deputy with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, where he retired as a lieutenant after 35 years of commendable service. Additionally, his patriotism shone through his commitment to the U.S. National Guard, where he served with honor and distinction.
An avid outdoorsman, Mike found joy and solace in hunting, a passion that allowed him to connect with nature and foster lifelong friendships. His love for the outdoors was only matched by the love he had for his family and community.
Mike Lopez will be remembered as a loving husband, a kind father, and a steadfast friend. His gentle spirit and generous heart left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. As we bid farewell to a man of great character and warmth, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of moments that will be cherished forever.
Mike's life will be honored in a private ceremony, where his family and friends will gather to share memories and celebrate the enduring impact he has made on their lives. His spirit will continue to guide and inspire those he leaves behind, as they carry forward the values of love and kindness that he embodied so fully.
