Michael Morris Obituary

Michael Vandenburgh Morris, a man known for his loving nature and handy skills, passed away on May 21, 2024, in Plant City, FL. Born on May 5, 1960, in Milton, FL.

Michael's early years were spent in the company of his late parents, Julius A. Morris and Elizabeth Jane Wallis, and his brothers, Richard Morris, who predeceased him, and Tom Morris. Tom, along with his wife Denise and their children Sam, Maggie, and William, remained an integral part of Michael's life. His bond with his previous spouse, Janice Morris, was a testament to his character, as they maintained a close friendship long after their nine-year marriage ended.

Professionally, Michael dedicated 14 years to Florida Steel, where he honed his skills in various roles, including working in the rebar shop, the mill, and as a chain sharpener. It was here that he met Janice, and together they built a life enriched by shared experiences.

A regular at Trivia Tuesdays, Michael's love for the game was as much a part of him as his infectious laugh. His photo posted above, which captures him in his element at trivia night, will forever remind us of his zest for life.

In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived—this is to have succeeded." Michael touched lives and leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Services will be held privately by the family.
