Michael Scott Lindsey, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on April 19, 2024, in his hometown of Plant City, FL, where he was also born on November 29, 1947. He was a proud Marine Corps veteran who served his country valiantly in Vietnam and later dedicated 37 years as a Mill Wright with C.F. Industries before his well-deserved retirement.
Michael is survived by his loving wife of many years, Joan Elizabeth Lindsey; his brothers, Steven and Timothy Lindsey; his children, Kathy (Mike) Lott, Lora Lindsey, Melissa (Paul) Abbott, and Christopher Graf; six grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Kay-Lynn Favell.
Known for his handy skills, wise counsel, and gentle demeanor, Michael was the epitome of a family man who deeply cherished his time with loved ones. His passions included fishing, hunting, and boating, activities through which he shared his love of the outdoors with his family and friends.
As we remember Michael, we reflect on the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson: "To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." Michael's legacy is one of love, service, and the countless lives he touched with his kindness and strength.
Michael Scott Lindsey's life was a testament to the enduring spirit of a man who built a life of purpose and joy. He will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
