Mathew Eli Falkenberg, known affectionately as Mathew to his friends and family, passed away on January 16, 2026, in Plant City, Florida. Born on October 4, 2006, in Columbus, Ohio, Mathew's infectious smile and boundless energy brought joy to all who knew him throughout his nineteen years of life.
Mathew was a cherished son to his parents, Travis and Whitney Falkenberg. He was a beacon of light in their lives, and his memory will be treasured forever. His grandparents, Henri Mann, Richard, and Debbie Mann, will remember Mathew as a loving grandson who filled their days with laughter and pride. Mathew's siblings, Jack Fehrmann-Falkenberg, Everly Falkenberg, and Austyn Falkenberg, will miss their brother deeply. His playful spirit and brotherly love will never be forgotten.
A proud graduate of Plant City High School, Mathew was known for his ambition and determination. He carried these traits into his work with the City of Plant City's Parks and Recreation Department, where he was not only a dedicated employee but also a friend to all his colleagues. Mathew's commitment to his community extended to his involvement with the Alifia Baptist Church where he attended.
Mathew's interests were as varied as they were passionate. An avid sports fan, he could often be found cheering on his favorite teams, sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm with anyone who would listen. His love for fishing was more than a hobby; it was a way for him to connect with nature and find peace. Mathew was also a gamer, with a particular talent for Fortnite, which he enjoyed playing with friends and family. His interest in working on cars was more than just a pastime; it was a skill he honed with precision and pride.
Those who knew Mathew will remember him as a very talkative and kind individual, always ready to engage in conversation and brighten someone's day. His ambition was evident in everything he did, and he inspired others to pursue their dreams with the same fervor.
Mathew's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the pursuit of happiness. His life, though too short, was lived to the fullest, and the memories he created will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know him. As we say goodbye to Mathew, we celebrate the time we had with him and the impact he made on our lives. He will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire us every day.
