Maryann "Betty" Steele Fasig Obituary
Maryann "Betty" Fasig Knowell, widely known as Betty or Nana, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2024. Born on January 18, 1943, Betty's life was a testament to resilience and love. Her vibrant spirit and unwavering positivity will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
She was a loving wife, mother, nana, and great nana. She is preceded in death by her amazing smiling, sunshine daughter Shelly, Clay and Valerie Fasig, Woofer, and the many other creatures she took in as her own. She loved all her extended family and welcomed every person as if they were her own blood. Betty was a strong and amazing wife to David. She has been a backbone and a loving, supportive mother to her son Jeff and an endearing stepmother to son Kenneth. With daughter in-laws: Keri and Yari, Grandchildren: Jennifer (Adam), Jessica (Jason), Clayton (Brooke), Kyle, Arlene, Michael, Ethan, and Lisel. Great grandchildren: Ayden, Emilee, Julia, Witten, Parker and many more.
She was a woman who believed there was good in everything. She believed in magic and saw the beauty from the smallest bug, flower to the tallest tree. She has written vibrant stories and created a background and brought to life, with an amazing talent, the lives of the animals of Woofers Woods. (If you haven't read it, please do). She created paintings, blankets, photos, and gardens. She never allowed herself to stop learning or moving. Whether it be feeding the animals or tending to her flowers. She taught herself the piano. Took up bee keeping. Betty believed tea parties and ice cream were to be had whenever the time arose and no matter the age and dandelions and shooting stars granted wishes.
Successfully, with her loving husband David, made an extensive garden of flowers and vegetables. Betty was in-tune with the world and its beauty more than most people. She was incredibly knowledgeable about all things' nature, life, and most of all love. Betty (Nana) was tickled pink over rainbows and thunderstorms and had the most infectious laugh and warm hugs. I ask you to ingrain her laugh into your memory and thank the heavens above that she was part of your story.
There will be a Graveside service at 11:00 AM Tuesday January 30, 2024, at Fellowship Baptist Cemetery, 10232 FL-674 Wimauma, Florida 34219.
