Mary Barbara O'Neal Obituary

Mary Barbara O'Neal, passed away on February 25, 2024, at the age of 72, in Land O' Lakes, Florida. Born on September 3, 1951, in New Orleans, Louisiana, she was a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a grandmother, and a great-grandmother whose warmth and passion for life touched everyone she knew.
Her vibrant spirit was a light in the lives of her family, including her devoted husband, Rodney O'Neal, her loving son Timothy Andrew Preston and daughter-in-law Becky, her adored daughter Amber Denise Viventi and son-in-law Dion, and her caring brother Robert Eugene Potts Jr. Barbara's legacy of love continued through her grandchildren, Ashlie Simmons, grandson-in-law John, Johnathan Preston, Peter Viventi, Emily Viventi, Erica Viventi, and great-grandson Jacob Simmons.
Her love extended to her dogs, Scrappy, Shaggy, Ladybug, and Red, who were not just four-legged companions but members of her family. Barbara's passion for antique shopping was more than a hobby; it was a way for her to connect with the past and share stories with her loved ones. Her faith in Jesus was the cornerstone of her existence. She loved sharing that faith with her family whom she loved to spend time with. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, creating memories that would last a lifetime.
Barbara's infectious enthusiasm and loving nature made her a friend to many. She had the unique ability to make people feel seen and heard, and her presence was a source of comfort and joy. Her passion for life was evident in everything she did. Barbara's spirit was a flame fueled by her faith. As a prominent member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle Church in Plant City, she embodied the teachings of Christ, spreading kindness and compassion wherever she went.
As we bid farewell to Barbara, we celebrate a life lived with boundless love and faith. She was the heart of her family, a true friend, and a woman whose passion was felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, and her memory will be cherished forever.
In the words of Billy Graham, "My home is in Heaven. I'm just traveling through this world." Barbara has completed her travels here among us and now rests joyfully in her eternal home. Though we will miss her dearly, we take solace in knowing that she is at peace, basking in the glory of the Lord she so fervently served.
In honoring Barbara's life, we remember her not for the finality of her journey but for the countless moments of joy and love she shared with us. Her legacy is one of compassion, devotion, and a life richly lived. May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may her story continue to be told with the same love and passion she shared with the world.
