Mary Ellen Parker

Mary Ellen Parker, age 91, of Lithia, Florida, passed away on May 27, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, faith, and devoted service to others.

She was born on December 28, 1934, in Newnan, Georgia, to the late George Louis Gray and Ozella Higgins. Mary Ellen grew up with a strong sense of family and a generous spirit that would remain with her throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Mattie Ruth Gunter and John Lewis Gray. Her life was marked by the quiet strength of a woman who cared deeply for those around her and who found joy in simple blessings, meaningful relationships, and a life rooted in faith.

Mary Ellen was a loving and kind woman whose presence brought comfort and warmth to her family and friends. She was known for her gentle nature, her steady heart, and the way she made others feel welcome and cared for. She lived a life centered on service, and she gave of herself freely to her family, her church, and her community. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she was connected to Cedar Grove Baptist Church, Bellshoals Baptist Church, and Fishhawk Fellowship Church, where she found fellowship and opportunities to serve.

She loved serving others and was always willing to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed. Mary Ellen volunteered at churches and gave her time with humility and grace. Her acts of service were never done for recognition, but simply because she cared. She believed in showing love through action, and she lived that belief every day. Her kindness touched many lives, and her example will be remembered by all who were blessed to know her.

Mary Ellen also enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. She loved to bowl and found joy in the companionship and fun that came with it. She owned her own farm, a reflection of her hardworking spirit and her appreciation for the life she built with determination and care. Whether tending to responsibilities at home, spending time with loved ones, or serving in her church community, she approached each day with grace and purpose.

She is survived by her sons, Anthony "Tony" Douglas Parker and his wife Robin, and Scott Parker and his wife Laura. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Justin Douglas Parker and his wife Sarah, and Joshua Thomas Parker, as well as five great-grandchildren, Liam Parker, Finley Parker, Wendy Parker, Molly Parker, and Reagan Parker. Her family was a source of great pride and joy in her life, and she cherished each of them deeply. The love she gave to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will remain a lasting part of their lives and memories.

Mary Ellen's life was a beautiful reflection of faith, devotion, and compassion. She will be remembered for her loving heart, her kind spirit, and the many ways she blessed those around her. Her family and friends will hold close the memories of her laughter, her strength, and her unwavering care for others. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of love and service will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A life so faithfully lived leaves behind a lasting imprint, and Mary Ellen Parker's memory will be treasured always.
