She was the daughter of the late Louis Mills and Marvellia Alford, and she grew up with her sister Patricia Stone, who predeceased her. Mary's heart found its match when she married Jim Murphy, and together they navigated the waters of life until his passing. Their union was blessed with three children: Tim Murphy, who with his wife Gloria, continued to spread the warmth of Mary's teachings; Beth Wilson, along with her husband Scotty, who inherited her mother's loving spirit; and Donna DeSouza, who with her husband Odel, mirrored Mary's nurturing heart. Mary's legacy further blossomed with her seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, all of whom she cherished deeply.

Mary's entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly as the co-owner of Murphy Bros. Used Cars, where she was not just a figurehead but the heart and soul of the business. Her passion for creativity and connection with people led her to own Mary's Bead Shop, a place that became a sanctuary for many and a hub of beautiful creations. Mary's hands were rarely still, as she loved crochet, a hobby that allowed her to weave threads of love into tangible keepsakes for her family and friends.

Those who knew Mary would describe her as the epitome of thoughtfulness. She had an uncanny ability to make everyone around her feel seen and valued. Her selflessness was evident in the way she put the needs of others before her own, always with a smile that could light up the darkest of rooms. Mary's love for her family was her guiding force, and she poured her entire being into ensuring their happiness and well-being.

In her quiet moments, Mary found joy and solace in the company of her beloved dog, Harley, who was a faithful companion and source of unconditional love. Her pets were an extension of her family, and she cared for them with the same fervor.

The family will receive friends Saturday December 9, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Haught Funeral Home 708 W Dr Mlk Jr Blvd Plant City FL 33563. A Memorial Service will follow at 12:00 PM.
