Martha Elizabeth Linton

Martha Elizabeth Linton, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2024, in Lakeland, Florida, at the age of 78. Born on March 22, 1946, in Plant City, Florida, Martha was a cherished soul who touched the lives of all who knew her.
Born to the late Roy Hobbs and Iola Exum, Martha inherited a heart full of compassion and an unyielding zest for life. She was also preceded in death by her beloved sister, Lorelle Hobbs Hutchinson.

Martha's journey began as the daughter of a close-knit family in Plant City, where she cultivated a life filled with joy and service. Her gentle spirit and loving nature were the hallmarks of her existence. She dedicated many years to the community as a bus driver for the public schools, ensuring the safe travel of countless children, whom she cared for as her own.

A devout member of the 1st Assembly of God in Plant City, Martha's faith was a cornerstone of her life. Her involvement in church activities not only deepened her spiritual connections but also allowed her to spread her kindness and love further within the community.

Martha's legacy is carried on by her beloved husband, Claude Linton, and her adoring children, Doug Carter and his wife Sonja, and Yvonne Lemons and her husband Bill. She was the proud grandmother to four grandchildren and one great-grandchild, who will miss her warm embrace and gentle guidance.

Those who knew Martha will remember her as the epitome of love, kindness, and gentleness. Her unwavering positivity and nurturing presence brought comfort to many, and her memory will continue to inspire those she has left behind.

As we bid farewell to Martha Elizabeth Linton, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of compassion and grace. Her spirit will forever remain a guiding light to her family, friends, and all the lives she graciously touched. Martha's journey on earth has concluded, but her story of love will be recounted for generations to come.

Friends and family will be received Friday, September 20, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Haught Funeral Home, 708 W. Dr. MLK Jr. Blvd Plant City, FL 33563.
A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM.
