Marlene Young Webber Obituary

Marlene Young Webber, 94, of Plant City, Florida, passed away on May 9, 2026. She was born on November 16, 1931, in La Fayette, Georgia, and lived a life marked by faith, devotion, and love for her family.

Marlene was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother whose presence brought comfort and strength to those around her. She was married for 49 years to her beloved husband, James Milton Webber, and together they shared a life built on commitment, faith, and enduring companionship. Their years together were filled with the joys and challenges of family life, and Marlene remained a steady source of encouragement and care throughout them all.

She leaves behind her children, Debbie and Jim Melton, Teresa McPherson, Bubba and Laura Brown, and her son-in-law Jake Smith. She was preceded in death by her daughter Kelly Smith and by Kyle Keown. Marlene also held close the memory of her siblings, Frank Hise, Sadie Day, and Ruby Hollis, all of whom preceded her in death. Her family was a source of great pride and happiness, and she treasured every moment spent with them.

Marlene was blessed with 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy. She delighted in watching her family grow through the generations, and her love extended warmly to each new child and grandchild who entered the family circle. Her legacy will live on in the values she passed down, the memories she created, and the example she set through her kindness and devotion.

A faithful member of Harmony Baptist Church in Plant City, Florida, Marlene lived her life grounded in her Christian faith. She served in the B.P.S. ministry for many years, giving her time and heart in service to others. Her church family was important to her, and she found strength, fellowship, and purpose in her service there. Her faith was not only something she professed, but something she lived each day through her actions, her words, and the way she cared for those around her.

Marlene will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her unwavering love for her family, and her steadfast faith in God. She had a way of making others feel welcome and valued, and she carried herself with grace and dignity throughout her life. Those who knew her will remember her warm smile, her loving heart, and the quiet strength that defined her character. Her life was a blessing to her family and to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Though she will be deeply missed, Marlene's life leaves behind a lasting testimony of love, faith, and devotion. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, reunited with loved ones who went before her and resting in the presence of the Lord she served so faithfully. Her memory will continue to be cherished in the hearts of those she loved, and her influence will be felt for generations to come.
