Marielis Oquendo Obituary

Marielis Lynette Oquendo, known affectionately as Marielis to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2024, at the age of 21. Born on September 8, 2003, in Plant City, Florida, she was a lifelong resident and a beacon of kindness in the community she loved so dearly. Marielis's journey came full circle as she departed this world in the same town where she first began her life's adventure.

Marielis was the cherished daughter of Elis and Micaela Oquendo, who nurtured her loving spirit and kind-hearted nature. She was a source of pride and joy for her grandparents, Elba and Juan Oquendo, and Ubertino Zavala. Her siblings, Pedro, Lissandra, and Dulce Oquendo, will remember her as a guiding light and a source of unconditional love. While her brother Elis Oquendo Jr. and grandparent Sonia Zavala preceded her in death, their influence on Marielis's life was profound and lasting.

A devoted member of the Plant City Church of God, Marielis's faith was a cornerstone of her existence. Her involvement in the church community reflected her commitment to living a life of service and compassion. Her loving and kind nature was evident to all who had the pleasure of knowing her, and these words only begin to capture the essence of Marielis's character.

Marielis's interests and passions were as diverse as they were heartfelt. Her presence was a comfort to those in need, and her actions were always guided by love and empathy. Her smile was a familiar and welcome sight to many, and her laughter was a melody that resonated in the hearts of those who heard it.

As we bid farewell to Marielis Lynette Oquendo, we celebrate the profound impact she had on our lives. Her spirit will continue to inspire us, and her memory will be cherished forever. Marielis's legacy is one of love, kindness, and the purest form of generosity. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have been touched by her extraordinary life.
