Maria Antonia (Rodriguez) Alonzo

With hearts full of gratitude and sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Maria Antonia (Rodriguez) Alonzo, who went to serve our heavenly Father on September 11, 2026, at the age of 73.

She was a woman of extraordinary beauty, strength, and grace. A devoted daughter, sister, and wife to her late husband, Maurillo; a proud mother to her two daughters, Diosmara (Williams) and Giosvania (Evers); a doting grandmother to Angela (Williams), Erika (Williams-Parris), Zachary (Williams), Giavanna (Evers), Adrianna (Evers), and Jett (Evers); and a loving mother-in-law to Edward Williams and Khambrel Evers.

Arriving in Miami, Florida from Pinar del Río (Punta de Carta), Cuba in 1980, she built a life and family defined by deep devotion to her Christian faith. In 2021, she moved from Key West, Florida to Plant City to be closer to her children and grandchildren.

Her best days were spent reading her Bible and worshiping, though she would never pass up a shopping trip. Her love language was gift-giving, making every birthday and holiday her favorite season.

She was a sweet, warm person who was loved deeply. Though the world feels a little dimmer without her, we will carry her in our hearts forever and cherish our memories with her.

Maria Antonia, you are now with the Lord. His arms have welcomed and embraced you, His heavenly child. May peace be with you.
