On the blessed day of July 30th, 2023, our dear sister Margaret Patricia Cope, born September 4, 1939, in Elwood City, PA, was called home by our Heavenly Father from her abode in Thonotosassa, FL. She was a woman who embodied the spirit of love, kindness, and unwavering faith throughout her earthly journey.
Sister Margaret was the beloved daughter of the late Lawrence Turner and Marjorie Aiken. She was the cherished wife of the late Dallas Cope and is also predeceased by her children's father; James Aldean Wallace, and the loving mother of James Wallace, her surviving son, and his fiancée Terrie Brock Waters. She was predeceased by her children David Wallace, Daniel Wallace, and Cynthia Wallace McPeak. In addition, she was the dear sister of Kathleen Townsend, David Turner, and Michael Turner. Sister Margaret's legacy also includes eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, each of whom she loved dearly and was immensely proud of.
Our sister was a devoted member of First Thonotosassa Missionary Baptist Church. She found great joy in serving her church community and was often found in her special spot on Sunday mornings, singing hymns with a heart full of faith. Her love for the Lord was evident in her every action, and that same love poured out onto all those she encountered.
In her earthly life, Sister Margaret found pleasure in the simple things. She nurtured her potted plants with the same care and devotion with which she nurtured her family and friends. Her green thumb was a testament to her patience, and her blooming garden was a reflection of her nurturing spirit. She also had a fondness for auctions, where she found delight in the thrill of the hunt and the joy of a good bargain.
In the evenings, Sister Margaret could often be found in her living room, solving puzzles on Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She had a lifelong dream of appearing on Wheel of Fortune, and although she never had the chance, she never lost her love for the game. Her keen mind and competitive spirit shone through in these moments, and her laughter was a balm to all who heard it.
Sister Margaret was a beacon of light in this world, touching the lives of everyone she met with her kindness and love. She was a woman of unwavering faith, her trust in the Lord guiding her through life's trials and tribulations. Even in the face of adversity, she remained steadfast, her spirit unbroken. Her strength was an inspiration to all who knew her, her kindness a lesson in compassion, and her faith a testament to her love for the Lord.
As we gather to remember Sister Margaret, let us celebrate the life she lived and the love she shared. Her time on this earth was a blessing to us all, and her memory will continue to inspire us. We take comfort in knowing that she is now in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father, watching over us from above. She has found eternal peace, and for that, we give thanks. Sister Margaret Patricia Cope, we will forever hold you in our hearts, until we meet again in the heavenly kingdom.
Though we mourn the loss of our dear sister, we rejoice in the knowledge that she is at peace, reunited with her loved ones in the kingdom of Heaven. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched, and her legacy will continue to inspire us. Sister Margaret Patricia Cope, your journey on this earth was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and faith, and we are all better for having known you. Rest in peace, dear sister, until we meet again.
If you ever showed up at Momma Peggys and left hungry something was definitely wrong.
