Macel Blevins, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2024, at the age of 85 in Plant City, Florida. Born on June 1, 1939, in Double Bridges, Alabama, Macel's life was a testament to the power of warmth and friendliness that she extended to everyone she met.
Predeceased by her beloved husband, Kyle C. Blevins Jr., and her siblings, Aileen Biddle, Marty Sherrod, and Marilyn Livingston, Macel's legacy of love continues through her devoted family. She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn (John) Davidson, and her adored grandchildren, Elizabeth-Kile (Justin) Stevenson, Emma-Grace McConnell, Kyle-Mark McConnell, John (Elizabeth) Davidson, Michael Davidson, and Harley (Taylor) Davidson. Her great-grandchildren, Brooklynn & Adalynn Stevenson, Sandra & Drake Davidson, Calvin Davidson, and Wilder Davidson, will miss their great-grandmother's gentle embrace and ever-present smile.
A devout member of the First Baptist Church of Plant City, Macel's faith was a cornerstone of her existence. Her commitment to her church community was unwavering, and she found great joy in participating in church activities and services. Macel's love for gardening was evident in the vibrant blooms that surrounded her home, a reflection of the beauty she cultivated in her life and the lives of those around her.
Above all, Macel cherished her family. She was the heart of family gatherings, her kindness and friendly demeanor making every occasion special. Her home was a place of warmth and welcome, where laughter was shared, and memories were made. Macel's presence was a comforting constant, and her guidance was sought after by all who knew her.
Those who had the pleasure of knowing Macel would describe her as loving, kind, and friendly. She had the unique ability to make each person feel valued and loved, and her compassionate spirit was a light in the lives of many. Macel's influence will be felt for generations to come, as she instilled in her family the values of love, kindness, and friendship.
Macel Blevins lived a life full of joy, love, and service to others. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved her, but her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. As we say goodbye to this remarkable woman, we celebrate the extraordinary life she led and the countless ways she enriched our lives. Macel's memory will be cherished forever, and her legacy of love will endure.
Friends and family will be received Thursday, October 17, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Haught Funeral Home, 708 W. Dr. MLK Jr. Blvd Plant City, FL 33563.
A funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM.
