Luis Alberto Alzate, known affectionately as Luis by his friends and family, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2024, in Lakeland, Florida, at the age of 66. Born on September 9, 1957, in the beautiful city of Armenia, Colombia, Luis was a man whose life was marked by his unwavering kindness, infectious humor, and an eternally optimistic outlook.
Luis was predeceased by his father, Marco Tulio Alzate, and is survived by his devoted mother, Lily Mere Osorio. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Luzmila Munoz, with whom he shared a life full of love and cherished memories. His legacy continues through his children, Luz Adriana Alzate Munoz, Monica Alzate Munoz, and Alejandra Alzate Munoz, who will forever hold him in their hearts. Luis was also a proud grandfather to three grandchildren and one great-grandchild, who brought immense joy and laughter into his life.
Throughout his life, Luis was an active member of the Jehovah's Witness community, where he found spiritual fulfillment and a sense of belonging. His faith was a cornerstone of his existence and provided him with strength and guidance during his time on earth.
Though he never considered himself an artist, Luis enjoyed painting, a hobby that allowed him to express his creativity and love for beauty. His paintings, much like his personality, were vibrant and full of life, often becoming a topic of light-hearted conversation among his friends and family.
Luis's career was as diverse and rich as his interests. His colleagues knew him as a man who brought enthusiasm and a positive attitude to every task he undertook. His commitment to his work was only matched by his dedication to his family and his faith.
To know Luis was to know a man who embodied kindness. His humor was a gift that he shared generously, lifting the spirits of all who were around him. His optimism was contagious, and he had a unique ability to find a silver lining in every cloud.
Luis's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his spirit and the memories he created will continue to inspire and comfort his family and friends. As we say goodbye to Luis Alberto Alzate, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of love, laughter, and a profound capacity to bring happiness to others. His was a life that will be remembered and cherished, always.
