Lorine M. Brock, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2025, at the age of 91 in Dover, Florida. Born on January 13, 1934, in Hazelhurst, Georgia, Lorine was a cherished daughter to the late James O. Murray and Pauline R. Connor. She was a guiding light in her family, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and creativity.
Lorine dedicated 35 years of service to the Hillsborough County School System as a bus driver, where she touched the lives of countless children and parents with her kindness and dedication. Her commitment to her community extended to her active membership at Sydney First Church of God, where her faith shone brightly.
A woman of many passions, Lorine found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid crocheter, an enthusiastic fisher, a voracious reader, and a loyal fan of the Tampa Bay Rays. Above all, her five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Lorine is survived by her loving children, Terrie Waters, Bruce (Sandy) Brock, and Tonya (Michael) Barber; her adoring grandchildren; her great-grandchildren; and her sister, Louise (Ben) Waters. She is preceded in death by her parents, her child Kathy D. Brock, and her siblings Louie Murray, Lillie Smith, Leola Chancey, and Leonard Murray.
Described by those who knew her as loving, faith-filled, and creative, Lorine lived a life that embodied the words of Mother Teresa, "Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love." Lorine did just that, touching lives with her small acts of great love.
Lorine M. Brock will be deeply missed, yet her spirit will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
