Larry Wayne Staggs

Larry Wayne Staggs, age 79, of Plant City, Florida, passed away on July 22, 2026. He was born on May 4, 1947, in Florence, Alabama, and lived a life marked by hard work, kindness, and devotion to the people and places he loved.

He was the son of the late Roscoe C. Staggs and Clara E. Wilbanks. Larry was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his children, Diane Staggs and Donnie, Bill Smith and Joyce, Robbie Staggs, Genyse Andrews, and Donna Staggs (Tom). He was preceded in death by his son, James Earl Smith. He is also survived by his sister, Brenda Staggs, and was preceded in death by his siblings Buford Staggs, Billy Staggs, Betty Staggs, Bobbie Staggs, Frances Yates, Evelyn Holmes, Jimmy Staggs, and Margaret Douglas. Larry also leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him great pride and joy.

Larry made a living through dedication and determination as the owner of Larry Staggs Tree Service. He took pride in his work and was known for being dependable, capable, and willing to lend a hand wherever it was needed. His strong work ethic was one of the defining qualities of his life, and he approached his responsibilities with the same steady spirit that guided him in all things. Those who knew him best will remember that he was both friendly and handy, always ready with practical help and a warm presence.

Outside of work, Larry found joy in simple pleasures and meaningful fellowship. He was a member of Bethlehem Holiness Church, where his faith and connection to others were an important part of his life. He enjoyed fishing, loved to work, and especially liked riding bikes and his scooter. These interests reflected his active nature and his appreciation for the everyday moments that made life rich and memorable.

A life well lived is measured not only by years, but by the love given, the work completed, and the lives touched along the way. Larry Wayne Staggs leaves behind a legacy of family devotion, honest labor, and quiet kindness. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
