Landon Thorpe Obituary

Landon Thomas Thorpe

April 4, 2014 - June 26, 2026

Landon Thomas Thorpe, 12, entered into his eternal rest on June 26, 2026, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, after a heroic, 8-year battle with cancer where he fought with everything he had. He was born on April 4, 2014, in Brandon Regional Hospital in Brandon, Florida, to his deeply devoted parents, Jeffrey and Katrina Thorpe.

Landon was far more than a son; he was his dad's best bud, fishing & gaming buddy, and constant companion. He was the center of his mom's heart, especially during their morning cuddles, and a true foodie who loved trying new things. Landon was also his sister Aubree's ultimate sidekick, always ready to team up for video games or watch something together.

Throughout his twelve years, Landon and his family did everything together—always creating memories, traveling when they could, enjoying life, and facing every medical hurdle together as an inseparable team. He was loving to his sister, Aubree, and recently experienced a moment of pure joy when he learned he was going to be a big brother to a baby boy this coming fall.

An avid and passionate gamer, Landon loved exploring and creating things in Minecraft, Roblox, Vr and playing his favorite Steam games with friends and family! His huge heart for others, imagination, humor, and determination was seen through every challenge he took on, both in his games and in his life.

Landon was a parishioner at the Epiphany of Our Lord Shrine in Tampa. His traditional Catholic faith was an anchor for him, and his family takes immense comfort in knowing that he is now completely healed, whole, and resting in peace, free from the pain and suffering of this earthly world and held safe by the comforts of our Lord.

He leaves behind a huge legacy of courage that inspire his family and those who knew him. His memory will be forever cherished by his parents, Jeffrey and Katrina; his sister, Aubree; his upcoming baby brother Michael Landon; his grandparents, Terry and Thomas Thorpe, and Doreen and Peter Ooms; and his great-grandparents, Irene and Ray Rasmussen, and Bernadette Himpsl; aunt's, uncle's and cousins, as well as a deeply supportive community of extended family, friends, and his parish family.
