Kathleen Hill

Kathleen Hill, who was born on May 18, 1936, in Tazewell County, Virginia, and passed away on August 30, 2026, in Plant City, Florida, was a loving and kind woman whose life was marked by devotion to her family, her faith, and the many people whose lives she touched.

She was the daughter of Edward Clinton Osborne and Merkie Celestial Barnett, and she carried the values of hard work, humility, and compassion throughout her life. Kathleen grew up with a strong sense of family and responsibility, qualities that remained with her in every season of her life. She was known for her gentle spirit, her warm heart, and the steady presence she offered to those around her.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her husbands, Claude Hill and Shular Kinder, as well as her siblings, Johnie Osborne, Betty Cooper, Lola Wall, and Debbie Osborne. These losses were deeply felt, yet she continued to live with grace and strength, holding close the memories of those she loved. Her life reflected resilience and quiet dignity, and she remained a source of comfort and encouragement to others.

She is survived by her brother, Lee Osborne and his wife Diane. Her family will remember her with love and gratitude for the kindness she showed and the example she set. Kathleen's presence in the family was one of steadfast care, and her memory will continue to be cherished by those who knew her best.

Kathleen devoted a meaningful part of her working life to Hillsborough County Schools, where she served as a custodian. She took pride in her work and understood the importance of contributing to the daily life of the school community. Through her efforts, she helped create a clean and welcoming environment for students, teachers, and staff. Her work was a reflection of her dependable nature and her willingness to serve others with humility and respect.

Faith was an important part of Kathleen's life, and she was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. Her church family was a source of fellowship and strength, and her commitment to her faith was evident in the way she lived. She found comfort in worship and in the bonds of Christian community, and she carried those values into her everyday life.

Kathleen also had a special love for cats, and this affection was one of the many simple joys that brought her happiness. Her appreciation for animals reflected her tender heart and her gentle nature. Those who knew her will remember not only her devotion to family and faith, but also the small and sincere ways she found joy in life.

Kathleen Hill will be remembered as a loving and kind woman whose life was defined by care for others, faithfulness, and quiet strength. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her. Though she is no longer present in body, the warmth of her spirit and the goodness of her life will remain a lasting comfort to those who loved her.


Friends and family will be received on Friday, September 4, 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Harmony Baptist Church, 6008 W. Knights Griffin Road Plant City, FL 33565.

A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM.
