Kathleen Gibbons Obituary

Kathleen Rae Gibbons

Born May 17, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois to Ray and Lillian Wudtke. Passed away on July 10, 2026 in Plant City, Florida. Loving wife of Charles W. Gibbons for 47 years. Charles was the true love of mom's life. She missed him terribly all these years. They had many adventures and travels together including raising four daughters. The daughters were nicknamed "Charlies Angels" years before the Charlies Angels TV show. Wendy Brown (Plant City, Florida), Bonnie Ohara (Franklin, North Carolina), Judy Luckhardt (Sanford, Florida), and Amy Staugaard (Wildwood, Florida). Grandchildren are Andy Brown, Pamela Barrett (Jason), Yasemin Bisset (Mark), Tara Dogancay, Amanda Luckhardt, and Brandon Luckhardt. Great Grandchildren are Haley Barrett, Brooke Barrett, Liam Luckhardt, and Elijah Luckhardt. Let's not forget the pets, birds and her Grand Kitties Brownie, Precious, and Shadow and her dog Penny.

Kathy fiercly loved her family, friends, and St. John's Church. She LOVED church. Besides being with her family, friends, and Bunco girls, being in church and loving Jesus were the most important and wonderful parts of her life. From knitting prayer shawls, creating cards for the Card Ministry, being a leader in the Women's Ministry, making Christmas wreaths and bows for the annual fundraiser, desserts for bake sales, and Monday night Bible studies, Kathy was at her best sharing the love of Jesus. Special thanks to Pastor Jaime Faberle for his wisdom, kindness, and friendship to mom.

Kathy was a gentle, loving mother. A sweet Christian lady who tried to be a life example to the Lord. Our beautiful mother was full of kindness, Christian generosity, and the love of family and friends To know Kathy was to know a true friend. Even through serious illnesses, when asked what she needed, mom would say with a smile even near the end, "I have all I need." Yes, she had all she needed because Kathy had the love of her family and Jesus in her heart. And now, there is great joy for Kathy. No more terrible pain. She can see, hear, and walk on her own. Kathy is with her husband Charles walking hand in hand. But most importantly, Kathleen R. Gibbons is with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. A life well lived is a precious gift to those who remember!
