Judy Evelyn Herring, a beacon of love and wisdom, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2023, in Plant City, FL, at the age of 73. Born on April 30, 1950, in Hahira, Georgia, Judy's life was a testament to the strength and courage of a woman who touched the hearts of everyone she knew.
Judy spent her professional life committed to excellence as a Lab Technician in Quality Control for Smithfield. Her dedication to her job was paralleled only by the love and care she bestowed upon her family. Judy's unwavering spirit and wise counsel became the cornerstone of her family's strength.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Frank Herring, who has lost his lifelong companion and the love of his life. Together, they built a family founded on unconditional love and mutual respect. Judy's legacy lives on through her sons, Terry (Stacey), Christopher (William), and Troy, and her brother, Donald who will carry forward her teachings and the memories of her unconditional love.
Her life was also blessed with the joy of her seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who will miss their grandmother's gentle embrace and the stories that only she could tell with such fervor and warmth. Judy now joins her late father, Troy Owen Smith, her mother, Irene Ever Lane, and her brothers Bobby, Troy, James aka JC, Billy, and Jerry, who predeceased her.
Judy's life was a journey of courage, a narrative of a woman who faced life's challenges head-on. She was the embodiment of the well-known quote by Maya Angelou, "Courage is the most important of all the virtues because without courage, you can't practice any other virtue consistently." Judy's courage was the foundation upon which her other virtues flourished, making her a loving mother, a wise guide, and a steadfast friend.
The loss of Judy will be felt deeply by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her smile, her laughter, and her ability to find the silver lining in every cloud will be dearly missed. She was a woman who created a home that was a haven of happiness and understanding, a community member who was involved and caring, and a friend who was always there when you needed her.
In the tapestry of life, Judy's thread was a bright and enduring one, woven with care and compassion through the fabric of the lives she touched. Her story is one of love, not just for her family but for the world around her. She believed in the goodness of people and the power of kindness, and she lived her values every day.
As we say farewell to Judy Evelyn Herring, we take comfort in knowing that her spirit will continue to guide us. Her wisdom will linger in the stories passed down through generations, and her love will remain in the hearts of those she cherished. Judy's life was a beautiful example of how to live with courage and love unconditionally, and she will forever be remembered as a woman who made the world a better place simply by being in it.
Judy's family wishes to express their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this time of mourning. Judy's memory will be cherished, and her presence will be sorely missed, but her spirit will forever be a guiding light to all who knew her.
