Joyce G. Jordan, a beacon of kindness and love, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2025, at the age of 89 in Plant City, Florida. Born on August 7, 1935, in Jennings, Florida, Joyce was the cherished daughter of the late Anderson L. Hicks and Willie O'Dell Kent.
Joyce's life was one of service and dedication, both to her family and her community. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John Jordan, and her dear sister, Agnes Bolgren. Her legacy continues through her loving children, Diane Jordan, John Jordan Jr., and Rebecca (Steve) Jones, as well as her sibling Ledell Fortner. Joyce was a proud grandmother to five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, who will carry forward her spirit of generosity and compassion.
A lifelong learner, Joyce earned her bachelor's degree and dedicated her professional life to the field of nursing. She was a respected member of the Northside Baptist Church and served her community through her work with Dr. Sinnett and Edminston, and Meriweather. Joyce's commitment to healthcare extended to her role as the Assistant Director of Nursing (A.D.O.N.) at Wilder Road Nursing Center, where she touched the lives of countless individuals with her gentle care and warm smile.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Joyce had a passion for reading and could often be found immersed in a book, always eager to learn and explore new worlds. Her love for yard sales was well-known, as she delighted in the thrill of discovering treasures and sharing them with those she loved.
