Jonathan Andres Cortez, a cherished son, brother, and friend, passed away on March 28, 2025, in Tampa, Florida, at the age of 18. Born on July 28, 2006, in Brandon, Florida, to proud parents Martin Cortez and Anabelia Minjares, Jonathan's warmth and kindness touched all who knew him.
From his early years, Jonathan was a beacon of love and joy within his family. He grew up alongside his siblings, Cassandra, Analise, and Martin Jr., surrounded by a close-knit circle of aunts, uncles, and cousins. His family remembers him as a loving soul, whose kindness knew no bounds and whose laughter could light up the darkest room.
Jonathan was a devout member of St. Clement Catholic Church, where he found a community of faith that nurtured his gentle spirit. He attended Plant City High School, where his amiable nature made him many friends and his dedication to his studies promised a bright future.
An avid fisherman, Jonathan found solace and excitement in the embrace of nature. His love for low rider cars and car shows was more than a hobby; it was a passion that he shared with friends and family, bringing them together in shared admiration and camaraderie. As a video gamer, he connected with people from all walks of life, creating memories and forging bonds that transcended the virtual world.
Jonathan's love for grilling was another facet of his desire to nurture and care for those around him. He turned simple meals into feasts of joy, where laughter and stories were shared as abundantly as the food he so lovingly prepared.
Jonathan's legacy is one of love and kindness, a testament to the impact one young life can have on so many. His memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of those who loved him. Jonathan Andres Cortez will be profoundly missed, but the love he spread will continue to resonate, a gentle echo of a life lived with kindness at its core.
