John T. Howell Jr., passed away peacefully on December 19, 2024, in Lakeland, FL. Born on September 30, 1936, in Tipton, GA, John's journey through life was marked by dedication, love, and an unwavering work ethic. He leaves behind a legacy of strength and reliability.
John shared 68 beautiful years with his beloved wife, Marie Peacock, a testament to their enduring love and partnership. Together, they raised a family of strong values and deep connections, including their sons Kent (Carolyn) Howell, Eric Howell, and Tracy (Mildred) Howell. His sister Joyce (Ed) Hooke, brother Jerry (Linda) Howell, and sister Fay Shepherd, along with his sister-in-law Fay Howell, will remember John as a pillar of the family, always ready to lend a hand. Though he is preceded in death by his siblings Charles, Fred, and Donnie Howell, and his grandson Wesley Howell, the memories they shared will continue to bring comfort to all who knew him.
John's professional life was spent as an industrious industrial insulator with Energy Services Inc., where he was respected for his skill and dedication. Although not a formal member, he was very active at Harmony Baptist Church, contributing to the community with his practical skills and generous spirit.
An avid outdoorsman, John loved to fish and hunt, pursuits that reflected his deep appreciation for nature and his patient, focused demeanor. Known as a handy man, he could fix almost anything, a trait that earned him admiration and gratitude from those around him.
John T. Howell Jr. will be remembered as a man of character, whose hands shaped not only the materials of his trade but also the hearts of those he touched. His legacy is one of love, hard work, and the quiet strength that defines a life well-lived.
A celebration of life for John will be Thursday January 16, 2025 at 11:00 AM, at Harmony Baptist Church, 6008 W. Knights Griffin Road, Plant City, Florida 33565.
