John Walker Epps, a man known for his friendly demeanor, exceptional handiness, and passionate spirit, passed away on January 22, 2024, in his hometown of Tampa, FL, at the age of 62. Born on August 14, 1961, also in Tampa, John's life was a testament to the joy and love he brought to everyone around him.
John's journey through life was marked by his unwavering dedication to his family, friends, and the community that he so cherished. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marcia Epps; his loving mother, Shelba Epps; and his caring siblings, Gene Epps and Christy Epps. John was preceded in death by his brother, Albert "Timbo" Epps, with whom he shared many cherished memories.
Professionally, John was a skilled automotive welder, a trade that allowed him to express his love for craftsmanship. His work was not just a job but a canvas where he left his mark of excellence.
Outside of work, John's interests reflected his vibrant character. He could often be found singing his heart out at karaoke nights, where his voice and laughter were contagious. His passion for cars and motorcycles was evident to all who knew him, as he spent countless hours attending car shows, racing, and building motorcycles. These hobbies were more than pastimes; they were the avenues through which John connected with like-minded individuals and formed lasting friendships.
John's life was one lived with a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures. He approached each day with the same enthusiasm and joy that he did when engaging in his favorite activities. He was a firm believer in the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson "Life is a journey, not a destination." He embraced the twists and turns of the road, finding joy in the ride itself.
As we bid farewell to John Walker Epps, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a legacy of warmth, skill, and passion that will continue to inspire all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be profoundly missed, but the memories he created will forever be a beacon of light for his family and friends. May his adventurous spirit continue to echo through the winds, inspiring us all to appreciate the journey we are on.
