JoAnn Baggett, a woman of love and faith, left this earth on March 19, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on August 6, 1939, in Port St. Joe, Florida, JoAnn's life was a tapestry of devotion to her family, her community, and her unwavering faith. She peacefully passed away in Lakeland, Florida, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and generosity that will be cherished by all who knew her.
JoAnn was the beloved wife of the late John C. Baggett, and together they built a family founded on love and strong family values. She was a guiding light to her children, Johnny Baggett (Nancy), Timothy Baggett (Barbra), Lynn Goldizen (Randy), Becky Dobson (Tommy), Stephen Baggett, and the late Anna P. Suttles. JoAnn took immense pride in her role as a grandmother to 14 grandchildren, and she was blessed to see her family expand to include 32 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Though she grieved the loss of her grandchild, Christopher Suttles, her belief in eternal life brought her comfort.
A long-standing member of the Willow Oak Church of God in Mulberry, Florida, JoAnn's faith was the cornerstone of her existence. She exemplified Christian values not just in word, but in her every action, touching the lives of fellow congregants with her loving spirit and generous nature. Her commitment to her faith was evident in her everyday life and in the love and care she extended to her family and friends.
JoAnn's talents were many, and she found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her hands were rarely still, as she was often found crocheting or sewing, creating beautiful pieces that became treasured keepsakes. Her love for baking and cooking was not just a hobby but a way of bringing people together, sharing stories and laughter over a home-cooked meal. The aromas from her kitchen were the backdrop to many family gatherings, and her recipes will be passed down for generations to come.
Those who knew JoAnn will remember her as the epitome of a loving, faith-filled, and generous soul. She had the rare ability to make everyone feel special, to listen with an open heart, and to offer wisdom that seemed to come from a place of deep understanding. Her legacy is not only in the family she lovingly nurtured but also in the countless lives she touched through her kindness and compassion.
As we bid farewell to JoAnn Baggett, we take solace in knowing that her spirit lives on in the memories we hold dear. She taught us the importance of family, the strength found in faith, and the immeasurable value of selfless love. Though we will miss her presence, we are comforted by the thought that she is reunited with her beloved John and her daughter Anna, basking in the glory of the Heaven she so firmly believed in.
JoAnn's life will be celebrated in a service that reflects the joy she brought to us all. Her story is one of a journey well-traveled, a life well-lived, and a love that will continue to inspire for generations to come. We honor her memory by carrying forward the virtues she embodied and by holding her in our hearts until we meet again.
