Born on February 28, 1941, to the late Walter Raleigh Padgett and Georgia K. Kilpatrick, Earl's life was one of dedication, service, and love.
Earl was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, where he bravely served his country during the Vietnam War, he was a navigator for flying the R-B57 high altitude recon missions, skillfully flying bombers to protect the freedoms we hold dear. After his honorable military service, he continued to serve his community through his work at Walmart, where he was a familiar and friendly face for many years. Earl's entrepreneurial spirit led him to own and operate Southwind Models, a business that combined his professional acumen with his personal passion for model rail trains.
A man of faith, Earl was an active member of the Midway Baptist Church, where he found strength and fellowship. His commitment to his faith was evident in the way he lived his life, always embodying the principles of love and kindness that are so often spoken of within the church walls.
Earl's educational journey culminated in earning a bachelor's degree, which he used to not only advance his career but also to set an example for his children and grandchildren of the importance of lifelong learning.

Earl's three granddaughters, Haley, Alyssa, and Olivia Thomassy, will miss their grandfather's gentle guidance and warm embraces.
