Contrajo matrimonio con Laura de la Cruz Hernández el 24 de octubre de 2014, y a través de esa unión ganó cinco hijos a quienes amó profundamente: Alejandra, Jorje, Anayalen, Laura y Briselda. Jesús asumió su rol dentro de la familia con devoción y esmero, y sentía un gran orgullo por las personas que amaba. Fue un hijo excelente —tal como lo describía con orgullo su madre—, y llevó ese honor con humildad y gratitud a lo largo de toda su vida.

Jesús fue el amado hijo de Irma de la Cruz —quien le sobrevive— y del difunto Miguel. También fue un hermano muy querido para Miguel, Heidi y Elisa de la Cruz. El vínculo que compartía con su familia constituía una parte fundamental de su vida, y ellos lo recordarán por su corazón amoroso, su risa y la lealtad que demostró hacia sus seres más cercanos.
