Jeana Barfield, a beacon of love, spirit, and unwavering faith, was called home to the Lord on July 31, 2023, at the age of 87. Born on March 31, 1936, to the late Jones Beaty and Mary Smith, Jeana was a woman who wore her faith like a shield and her love like a warm, comforting blanket. In her personal life, Jeana was a long-time member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle in Plant City. She loved nothing more than to immerse herself in the Word of God, often seen with her beloved Bible in hand.
Her faith was her compass, guiding her through the world with a spirit full of joy and a heart full of love. Jeana is predeceased by her beloved husband, William E. Barfield, and her cherished daughter, Deborah Hutcheson.
She is preceded in death by her siblings; Jones Beaty Jr., Ruth Grey, Floyd Beaty, Chris Beaty, Randy Beaty, Harold Beaty and Ross Beaty. She is survived by her sister Minnie Hilterbran, She leaves a legacy of love to her granddaughters, Paula (Michael) Shover and Teresa Odom, her four great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
As we remember Jeana, we remember a woman of great faith, a woman who loved deeply and lived fully. As the Good Book says, "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." (1 Corinthians 13:13). Jeana embodied this scripture, her life a testament to the power of love and faith.
In the words of the great Reverend Billy Graham, "My home is in Heaven. I'm just traveling through this world." So too, Jeana was just traveling through, leaving a trail of love, faith, and spirit in her wake.
As we celebrate her life, let us strive to live as Jeana did, with a heart full of love and a spirit full of faith. Jeana Barfield, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, will be deeply missed, but her legacy will live on. Her life was a testament to the power of love, spirit, and unwavering faith. She was truly a woman of God, and her spirit will forever be a beacon of light in our hearts.
