James Robert Crow, known affectionately as Jimmy to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025, at the age of 72 in Plant City, Florida. Born on October 3, 1952, in Altamonte Springs, Florida, Jimmy was a beacon of light and joy to all who knew him.
Jimmy was predeceased by his loving parents, Burton Crow and Alice McMichael. He leaves behind his cherished sister, Mary Ellen Davis, along with a host of friends and relatives who will miss his warm presence.
A lifelong member of Northside Baptist Church, Jimmy's faith was a cornerstone of his existence. His love for gospel music was profound, and he could often be found humming his favorite hymns or attending church concerts. His devotion to his faith was matched only by his passion for sports, particularly his unwavering support for the Florida State University teams. Jimmy's enthusiasm for FSU games was infectious, and his knowledge of the teams' statistics and history was encyclopedic.
Those who knew Jimmy would describe him as loving and kind, a man whose generosity knew no bounds. He approached life with a gentle spirit and an open heart, always ready to lend a hand or offer a word of encouragement. His kindness extended beyond his immediate circle, touching the lives of many in his community.
Jimmy's departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. As we say farewell to Jimmy, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of compassion, faith, and an enduring love for the joys of life. He will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.
