James Mooney Obituary
Jim Mooney, 88 of Plant City passed away January 30, 2018.
Born in Griffin, Georgia, he was the son of the late James Sr and Ida Jenkins Mooney.
Jim’s survivors include his wife, Charlotte Henderson Mooney; children, Hal Mooney (Peggy), Jim Mooney (Sarah), Chrissy Harshman (Vaughan); brother and sister in law, Joe and Sue Carter; grandchildren, Justin, Jessica, Jacob (Jackie), Matthew, Jesse, Delaney (Austin), Aaron; great grandchildren, Charlie, Acelyn.
Jim was a member of First Baptist Church Dover, where he had been a member since he was 11. He was a manager of the Scotty’s in Plant City for 14 years, was a damage inspector for the Atlantic Coast Line, was a veteran of the US Air Force during the Korean conflict, enjoyed H.O. gauge model trains, reading, country music, westerns and playing guitar.
A visitation will be from 10-11am Monday at First Baptist Church of Dover, with a funeral to follow at 11am. Jim will be interred in the church cemetery.
